No joking! The LMA (and the other parts of the Archive) are an invaluable asset...I've come here almost every day, more or less, since I discovered the place years ago! Keep up the great work!
PS A quick question...I noticed a while ago that there is a collection for True West (I assume the old 80s neo-pysch band and compatriots od Dream Syndicate) but the folder is empty...is this because it was withdrawn or no one has uploaded any content? If it is the latter, then I have a couple of mid 80s shows on cassette that if I can find them and have a friend edit them into the correct format I will try to upload at some point. Let me know if this is the right True West since I believe there is a newer band using that name now unrelated to the Russ Tolman & Gavin Blair led TW of the 80s. Let me know.

Re: True West, yes, this is the band you're thinking of. The note on their collection page came from Russ Tolman himself, but it looks like they never got around to uploading anything. Send away!

Cool...must find the two tapes first and then edit into proper format, hopefully my friend (a pro music engineer) can do it. What is proper format? Is their instruction page link here? I'll look for tapes this weekend...I remember one was from Danceteria in New York in either 83 or 84. Decent audience recording from what I can remember.

chops- Just to update you....must be a traffic issue. Last night I streamed 3 or 4 songs from the three Gutterball shows (7/5/94, 8/20/94 and Steve Wynn 1-31-98)between 11:30 PM and 12:30 AM and no problems whatsoever, buffered fairly quickly in all cases and there were no pauses. So obviously it has nothing to do with the collection or the files within. This morning at 10:30 Am tried streaming Dream Syndicate 10-21-88 and it was slow as molasses....had to pause in between songs to let the very slow buffer work. Minutes later tried a 4 song stream from Little Feat (7-8-78) and it streamed and buffered fast and again w/o pauses...no problems. So, its pretty obvious it is a traffic issue. Has the listenership (is that a word?) bumped up dramatically in the last month or so. With my luck the Steve Wynn/Gutterball/Dream Syndicate collections are probably on the same server as the Grateful Dead (love em!), Phil lesh and Friends (love em!), Ratdog (hate em!) and the Smashing Pumpkins (hate em!)...lol! Thanks for checking into the problem again....appreciate it.
